How many training courses are too many?

Hello gorgeous!

Cor blimey, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind week with training on everything from branding to email marketing! Let’s get into it, shall we?!

Here Comes Another Rebrand!

What’s this, the 4th? But we’re not counting!

Last Monday, I went to Jacquie Naunton’s 2-hour branding training, which was mind-blowing and really made me rethink my branding and what it was saying about me & my personal brand.

So here we are with new colors, my neon pink and electric turquoise have been retired from Esme Crutchley because, as much as I love them, I’m moving toward a brand palette that works on dark and light backgrounds and they really didn’t look right on a white background!

It wasn’t until this training that I realized that I didn’t actually have a logo…bit of an oversight there! Fear not, I have one now!

Esme Crutchley Logo 2023, that I created from Jacqui's training

This logo works in all the new colors (including a goldy orange – who would have thought I would have a bloody orange as a brand color?!).

I’m trying to make sure that the brand colors for both Esme Crutchley and Systems & Glitter, sort of match, so they’re cohesive across both brands. But it’s hard to know what to keep in S&G and what needs to be replaced with something more in the Esme Crutchley brand colors. This shit is hard people! If you’ve rebranded, feel free to hit me up on Twitter or IG DMs and let me know how you handled it!

Jacqui is an amazing Canva educator, you can find her YouTube channel here. She has amazing tutorials, this is her latest that you might like to have a look at if you want your Canva socials to have a bit more depth:

Email Marketing Training

The next training was from Jenna Kutcher on Wednesday on email marketing. Now, if you’ve ever been to a Jenna Kutcher training you’ll know it’s fast! I couldn’t keep up, and ended up just taking screenshots of the slides that I wanted to remember because that was the only way to get the information that she was sharing.

I will say that this isn’t something I recommend doing, because it’s someone else’s intellectual property. If you are going to do this, make sure that you keep it to yourself and don’t share it with anyone because you don’t have the right.

Normally I have an issue with people doing a training session and just reading off the slides, but in 60 minutes there were 200 slides! If she hadn’t read off the slides it would have been impossible to take any notes! I learned a lot and it was really worth it!

| Pro Tip | If a training is free, it’ll 9/10 end in an upsell, but that doesn’t mean you won’t learn anything from the rest of the training! If you learn 1 thing that helps you in business, that helps you earn more money, then donating an hour is a great use of your time. And even if you don’t learn anything right now, something might stick and become relevant in a few months or even longer. Also, don’t switch off as soon as the pitch starts, even if you know you’re not going to buy the thing, sometimes you can get more information from the pitch and following Q&A that you can use.

Lead Magnets

I’m working on some lead magnets/freebies that I can offer people, sharing my knowledge of entrepreneurial things that I’ve experienced, and/or how I’ve worked through something that no one else is explaining.

I’m thinking along the lines of “5 things to remember when you’re doing XYZ” and “things to avoid when you’re tackling ABC” and I have about 5 ideas that I’m working on at the moment.

But I’d love you to tell me if there’s something you want me to create a freebie on, or something you don’t know how to do, or something that I do that you want my take on.

Here’s a handy form!

Training Coming Up

Some of you know I have a business crush on Jessica Stansberry, and she’s running a paid workshop/masterclass on Wednesday on creating and marketing digital products, which I’m really looking forward to! It’s $47, so it’s not a huge expense if you want to sell digital products.

If you want to go, here’s her video where she announced it. There’s only 200 places, hopefully if you want to go, there will be places left!

Maiko Sakai is running a free training on using quizzes to grow your email list on July 13, 1pm EST. Any time she creates a new training, I’m SO there! You can sign up here.

Project Management

Looking for a new project management system? My amazing Biz Bestie, Kim Pinelli is writing essays on Twitter about project management, organization, and what to do when you take a break and need to get on top of everything again. Well worth a binge!

I retweeted one of her essays (she probably didn’t aim it at me…but), and Nerdy Momo Cat replied with her 27-tweet thread on how to pick a project management system, (and evaluate whether you actually need to or not) which is definitely worth a look too!

Phew, that was a lot!

There was a lot happening last week, and more coming up, but I didn’t want you to miss any of it in case there’s something that I’m doing that you might want to go to as well!

Don’t forget to fill out my lead magnet request form if there’s something you want me to share, here’s the button again!

I think that’s all I have this week, I’m sure there’s more, but this is already longer than normal! So I’ll sign off here!
